Tavistock
is well located for ballooning with its clear flying zones in all directions, in
a natural bowl launch site and with the potential for dramatic photography.
In addition, the Fiesta offers hot showers, camping on site, FREE PROPANE
for fiesta flights (Sat eve & Sun pm) and
a legendary survivor's supper. Just ask anyone who has attended the Fiesta in its
early years how beautiful an area this is to fly. After the weather
stopped a full flying programme in 2006, we hope to see a return to our usual
sunshine and laid-back flying for 2007.
The Westcountry Balloon Fiesta is the largest of its type in the South West
peninsula and is now firmly established as one of the premier fiestas on the
circuit,
attracting enormous media attention and with an enviable reputation as being an
exceptionally well run and friendly fiesta. We also offer "legendary
hospitality" and £500 prize money over the weekend. In addition, the
event is not run on a commercial basis.
ALL PROFITS from the event go to local charities via the organising
committee which comprises representatives from Tavistock Lions & Round Table,
who number among their members 2 local balloonists.
